Red Sox @ Yankees 8/8
No runs scored in the last 24 innings? How’s that Victor Martinez trade working out for you, Sawks?
This is just front-to-back ownage. A second straight gem by Yankee starting pitching, and timely hitting, sealed a victory that amounts to kicking a team while they’re down. No gas, it must really suck to be a Red Sox fan right now. I mean think about it; Boston absolutely dominates New York the first half of the season, going 8-0 against them. What does that translate into? They’re currently 5.5 games behind the Yanks and free falling.
After beating the Red Sox 5-0 today, the Yankees are showing that not only did they get the monkey of their back, but they’ve choke-slammed it through a stack of tables. The Bronx Bombers took the 3rd leg of the four game series, and did so in dominating fashion. CC took a no-hitter into the 6th inning before giving up a single to center by Jacoby Ellsbury. CC went 7 2/3 IP, struck out 9, and gave up a measly 2 hits.
